Within an hour of arriving in Glacier National Park, Mother Nature upped the ante on the scenery and threw a double rainbow at us. It was the perfect way for my in-laws to pull into the East Glacier Amtrak station! They joined us for the week in Glacier and thought taking the train would be a fun adventure, so they from Pennsylvania to Minneapolis and then boarded the train or the rest of the journey out west. After many, many hours on the train, this was a welcome sight indeed!
As we walked across the street from the train station back to the East Glacier Lodge, we were greeted with a spectacular sunset over the peaks of Glacier National Park.
Not a bad introduction to “the backbone of the Continent,” as Glacier is known. The welcoming committee was up bright and early again the next day, presenting yet another double rainbow. I was hoping to get some great shots during our week in the Park–it is one of the most scenic spots in the world–how amazing to have these beautiful sights less than 12 hours into our arrival!
It may be hard to look at a double rainbow the same way after a certain youtube video gained notoriety a few weeks ago, but you have to admit, they are pretty impressive!
