Two Medicine, Glacier {Bozeman Landscape Photographer}

Needless to say, I took a lot of picture on our trip to Glacier National Park.  A lot.  Actually, “a lot” is a big understatement.  I’m not even through half of them yet.  But every time I do sit down to the computer to tackle more of them, it’s like Christmas!  I just keep finding more and more gems.  This collection is from our morning in the Two Medicine Valley near East Glacier, MT.

My family took a famous Red Bus Tour, which included a drive on windy mountain roads in a roof-less 21′ antique red bus.  I highly recommend one if you eve find yourself in Glacier!  Part of tour also included a boat trip across Two Medicine Lake. . . when you’re in Glacier, your plans have to include getting out on those impressive glacially-carved lakes.  This tour was the best of everything!

As we were about to board our boat, I asked the ticket-taker if I could borrow her decorative wildflower arrangement for a minute.  She looked at me like I was a little crazy, but agreed. . . and I ended up with a nice shot!

Mt Sinopah looms over Two Medicine Lake

The most prominent peak in the valley is Mount Sinopah, and you’ll see her take center stage in many of the following photos.

Our tour also took us on a short walk to Running Eagle Falls.

And the beauty wasn’t just found when look up, the water is so clear and so pure, the colorful rocks on the bottom seem to jump right out at you!

I’m general fond of bright, vivid color in my photographs, particularly when shooting the natural world, but I think there’s just something stunning and soul-touching about a good black-and-white.  And this one in particular just draws me in. . .
