Friday Favorites {Bozeman Portrait Photographer}

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another installment of “Friday Favorites”!  (You can find my inaugural edition here.)

First, I’m going to share one of my all time favorite breakfast dishes–Orange Marmalade French Toast.  Yes, it’s as delicious as it sounds.  Just whip it up the night before, stick it in the fridge, and in the morning you just have to pop it into the oven and bake for about an hour.  And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even try some different flavored jams.  The marmalade is my favorite, but raspberry preserves come in a close second.  And the best part–it’s from Cooking Light, so there’s no guilt!  Go ahead, get it going tonight and you’ll have a fabulous Saturday morning.  Pair it with some Coffee and Brown Sugar Bacon and I guarantee the most delicious breakfast you’ve had in a long time!

Since I’m on a roll with food, I have to share the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had.  A good friend sent us some of this delicious Schokinag Triple Chocolate hot cocoa (technically, it’s “drinking chocolate”) a while ago and it takes enjoying a warm cup of chocolate to an entirely new level.  Seriously fabulous!

I better quickly move on to a non-food subject because my mouth is watering and I’m liable to head to the kitchen!

We are a book family and I have particular soft spot for children’s books.  When my almost-4-year old was born we started collecting them by the dozen and I think we easily have over 500 children’s books on our shelves.  We recently rediscovered an old favorite, We All Go Traveling By by Sheena Roberts.  I remember getting this book when my older son was about 18 months old and it quickly became one of his most frequently requested reads.  My younger son, now 20 months, recently found it on the shelf and was hooked.  We’ve read it at least 4 times a day for the last week.  The cool thing is that it comes with an audio CD, so you can actually sing the book rather than just reading it.  The CD has made its way into the rotation in our car and both boys are loving it.  While I’m not a huge fan of kids music, this one is definitely catchy and only gets annoying after listening to it for the third time-in-a-row!

Finally, speaking of kids, I thought I’d share one of our favorite spots in town–The Children’s Museum of Bozeman.  It’s been our regular Friday morning activity for years.  Annual memberships are extremely affordable, there are so many fun activities to keep the kids engaged and entertained, and we always find friends to play with!  The bubble wall has always been a favorite!  If you live in Bozeman or are just coming to visit, be sure to put the CMB on your list of must-do’s.  And if it’s a Friday morning, be sure to say hello!

I’m pretty sure you could make lots of Mommy’s happy talking about more children book suggestions. This is a huge frustration for me…going to the library and not a clue where to start! :) Thanks for the wonderful suggestions and yes, I’m still a drinking chocolate fan. :) I love you Friday Favs! Thanks Amy.
