I just returned from a 4-day trip to San Antonio, Texas for the Professional Photographers of America’s Annual Conference. In between listening to informative speakers, oohing-and-ahhing over fabulous new products at the trade show, and convening with fellow photographers I had a little time to explore the beautiful downtown area and Riverwalk.

Texans are not shy about going big or displaying their flag.

The Riverwalk is the highlight of downtown and it feels like a little hidden treasure! You’re walking along the streets and all of a sudden you come to an overpass, look down and see this jewel:

The bright umbrellas of the restaurant Casa Rio were perfect!

I paid a visit to the famous Alamo at high noon one day. And in addition to the famous building, also discovered some beautiful shaded pathways and greenery.

And the final impression I have of San Antonio is “colorful”. Even though it was mid-January, the flowers were bright and there were colorful accents all over the city.

It was a perfect place to spend a long weekend and escape snowy Montana!

Beautiful pictures! I’m so jealous you got to go inside the Alamo. It was closed when we got there. Your shots inside it are stunning!
Amy, Beautiful photographs! I’m happy you liked San Antonio. Check out my blog the next time you’re down this way. I love to get people off of the beaten track. Cheers, Denise
