Friday Favorites: Flashback {Bozeman Photographer}

I’ve been in Florida with my family visiting my parents at my girlhood-home for the last few days.  While enjoying the sunshine and warm weather, I’ve also been having a walk down memory lane.  I’m devoting this brief “Friday Favorites” post to some old-time favorites!

1.  Vintage Fisher-Price Toys.  My parents have managed to save quite a few of the toys that my brother, sister, and I played with as kids some-30-years-ago.  And while I used to harp on them for keeping so much “junk,” I must admit that it’s pretty cool to see my own kids now playing with the exact same toys I played with when I was their age.  They just don’t make them like this anymore!

2.  Petting Sting Rays.  Growing up in Orlando definitely has its advantages. . . Sea World and Disney are two of the biggest ones!  And, now that I have my own kids it’s an even better place to be from.  A trip to visit the grandparents always has some exciting adventures!  My 4-year-old son loves ocean animals so we were sure to include Sea World on our visit this time.  I haven’t been in years (probably since I moved away for college over 15 years ago), but one of my favorite memories of the park is petting the sting rays.

The sting rays at Sea World swim past so you can give them a pet.

I was happy to see that they are still there, doing laps in their pool, content to let you touch their squishy, slippery, and soft “wings”.  And I was even happier to see my oldest son delighting in the experience, as well!

3.  Mickey Mouse.  Who doesn’t love Mickey?  My mom tells me that my very first words as a baby were “mick-mick” and the mouse still has a special place in my heart.  Even better than Mickey for me now?  Watching my kids experience the joy!  We’re at Disney today, so I have no pictures to share here yet, but you can be sure this day will definitely be a “favorite” in my book!

We’ve got a few more days to soak up the Florida sun and warmth and then we’ll be headed back to Montana, where I’m preparing myself to be greeted by a few inches of fresh snow. . .

Amy – Did you know that “Santa” brought all theses vintage little people and their village(s) this year? Finn plays with his “guys” all day – hours at a time. Come over any time!
