For decades, a large white “M” has sat on the side of the Bridger mountains overlooking Bozeman. It’s a local landmark and a hike up to it is practically a requirement for residence in the town! You can spot it at the far right side in this image (about half way up the mountain):
This past weekend it actually felt like summer is approaching, with warm sunshine and bright blue skies. Our first trip to “The M” for the year was in order! The yellow wildflowers dotting the side of the mountain were beautiful.
And even better, is the magnificent view of Bozeman, the Gallatin Valley, and the distant snow-covered Madison range. I love the valley this time of year, with the lush green carpet of spring anchoring the soaring mountain tops still covered with white. It’s fantastic!
A glimpse of the Spanish Peaks is sure to impress, too.
Although clouds and rain have settled back in for the week, the sun will be back (right, it has to, doesn’t it?!) and it’s the perfect time to get out there and enjoy our beautiful Montana!
