My first thoughts, when it comes to “scenery” in Los Angeles are: crowded, cluttered, busy, cramped. Quite the contrast from the wide open spaces of Montana. It’s true that it is hard to find some open space around here (unless you like to tread water with sharks), but while my first thoughts have proven to be correct, I’ve also found that there is beauty in the crowds and clutter. You just have to look at things a little differently. So I can stand on my front porch and gaze at the tall swaying palm trees across the street, I just have to gaze at some power lines too.
And while it might not be so serene, it’s interesting. And makes me think a little. And I think that is what makes a good image.
