She’s a Star {Los Angeles Child Photographer}

I’ve been on a bit of blogging hiatus the last couple of months but what better way to come back from that than with this little cutie?!

When she arrived for her session with her mom, I greeted her and asked politely if I could take her picture that day. She quickly said, “no” and buried her face behind mama’s leg, and then, less than a minute later she was sitting in front of my camera having the time of her life! I don’t know that it can get any cuter than this. . . I just adore three-year-olds!

I typically try to keep the “sneak peeks” to just a handful of images, but in this case, I just couldn’t help myself. . . even narrowing it down to this many was tough!

Like all good three-year-olds, she had her special lovey close by, and of course we had to get some shots of them together. . .

Sweet, happy, smart, funny and quite simply a lovely little girl — what a joy for me to spend some time with her! :-)

Matilda Jane {Los Angeles Photographer}

Once again, I had the fun opportunity to photograph an outfit from the Paint-by-Numbers Matilda Jane Clothing collection!

My sweet-as-can-be and cute-as-a-button model had a blast playing and posing at the park in the Turtle Dove Knot Top over the Stippling Tee and Gallery Leggings. The bright and rich colors are a feast for the eyes and were the first thing we noticed about the outfit. Then we noticed the softness of the tee and leggings — super comfy for a day of school or playing at the park, but with so much style, your girl will make a statement anywhere!

While the clothing fits very true-to-size and is perfect as-is, I’d suggest getting the Gallery Leggings a couple sizes big for maximum versatility. The leggings are perfect in their cropped length, but would be darling as ankle-length pants. Buying a slightly larger size lets your daughter wear them as pants and then grow into them as cropped leggings a few years later. The Turtle Dove Knot Top is brilliant in design, letting you get a custom fit with the adjustable shoulder straps. Super cute as a top, and would even make a sweet dress in a larger size, that can be adjusted with the shoulder straps and tie back.

Any way you size it, we give Matilda Jane Clothing two big thumbs up!

Beautiful Bella {Los Angeles Head Shot Photographer}

I photographed beautiful Bella a few weeks ago. In the mean time, my PC came to within a megabyte of its death and I switched to Mac. If only that process was as easy as that sentence made it sound! I’m still learning the ins and outs of my new system and still spend plenty of time staring at my screen, searching for just that one little thing. And poor Bella was caught in the crossfire. . . files safely backed up (in triplicate!) but awaiting transfer and loading of all the software I needed in order to actually do something with them!

With a little trepidation, I can say that I’m back in business! And now I’m beyond excited to share a little peek of images from her session. . .

Hopefully Mama (and all) will say that it was worth the wait! I really, really appreciate their patience as I worked through my technical issues!

I’ll confess, the term “corporate head shots” sounds pretty boring. But this session was anything but that. Yes, we did do a few of the more traditional business images, but we also mixed it up a bit with some more casual professional shots. I think of it as “corporate with a twist”! Enjoy!

Inspired Screenwriter {Los Angeles Head Shots}

The lovely and talented Pat Verducci contacted me a few weeks ago about getting some updated professional head shots. She’s a Los Angeles-based screenwriter, teacher, and consultant and wanted to do the session outdoors, which I loved!

While I’d love to come up with something witty and engaging to write here, I think it best if I stick to my strong suit — the pictures!

And I’ll leave the writing to the to the talent of Ms. Verducci!

Stop CMV {Los Angeles Head Shots}

I had the privilege of meeting Jilleen last week on the beach for some professional head shots. She’s on the Board of Directors of an organization called Stop CMV. Their mission is to prevent and eliminate congenital CMV, the most common viral cause of birth defects and developmental disabilities in the U.S. As of 2009, only 14% of women have ever even heard of it, so they also want to raise awareness. As a mom, I was glad to learn more about it and to be able to work with this amazing group! Please read more about them at www.StopCMV.org

At home in Montana {Los Angeles Photographer}

If this family looks a bit familiar, there’s good reason. . . Tracy is a consultant and business leader with Rodan + Fields skin care and earlier this summer she celebrated earning a Lexus right here in Southern California! I documented that night for her, which you can view here. She’s such an inspiration and the products, developed by the creators of ProActiv Solution, are so effective I signed on to her business team as consultant a few months ago myself!

This post, though, is about Tracy and her beautiful family. She has roots in Southern California, so that’s where she celebrated her fantastic accomplishment with R+F, but she and her family call Bozeman, Montana home. So when I was there a few weeks ago, we did a family session in one of the most beautiful spots in all of the country!

Her girls are as funny, sweet and spunky as they are beautiful! I just love the bond between these two!

We had a great session and wrapped it up with a little fun in front of an amazing view!

My Brother {Los Angeles Head Shots}

Meet my big brother, Doug. He’s an airline pilot, awesome Uncle, and he’s just added aspiring actor to his resume. He lives in Cincinnati with his lovely wife but came out for a quick visit to L.A. last week to visit his nephews. While he was here, we did some head shots to add to his portfolio.

I call this one his “Assistant D.A.” shot. I think he looks perfect for a role on Law & Order!

He showed his softer side, too.

And something a little more casual to finish out the bunch:

My boys are especially fond of their Uncle Doug and hopefully we’ll see him on the big (or small) screen soon!

Glowing {Los Angeles Professional Portrait Photographer}

I photographed the lovely, smart and talented Michelle Haught right before leaving Bozeman. She wanted an updated head shot for her facebook page and business. As you can see, she’s just glowing!

I attribute that to her newest business venture with Rodan + Fields. If you haven’t heard of this fantastic company, you need to check them out. Professional Head Shots {Bozeman Portrait Photographer}
