I am so excited and honored to a part of the nationwide “Celebration of Smiles” charitable portrait event organized by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA)! Share your smile with me and we can help save a smile! On Sunday, April 22nd, I’ll be taking portraits to raise money for Operation Smile, an organization dedicated to treating children around the world who suffer with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

For a minimum $24 donation, you’ll receive the gift of:

a mini-portrait session
a gallery of 4-6 images to review
one 5×7 print of your chosen image
one watermarked web-sized digital file of your chosen image, perfect for sharing on-line

The mini-sessions will be 10 minutes in length at an outdoor location in downtown El Segundo on Sunday afternoon, April 22nd. School Memory Boxes {Bozeman School Photographer}

School is coming to an end for the year and I have a great new product for you to hold and preserve all those fantastic memories!

The School Memory Box uses one of your child’s school portraits to create a customized, personalized memory box large enough to keep those precious projects, notes, and drawings. Preschool Fun {Bozeman Preschool Photographer}

I’m finally catching my breath after an amazingly busy November and one thing I’ve been eager to check off of my “to do” list is posting some of the images from a Preschool I photographed early in November. The school had over 80 kids (more than double the other schools I’ve photographed!), so I teamed up with my good friend Kelly Kuntz. I wanted to be sure this school got the same high quality and exceptional service that I’m known for, with print orders delivered before Christmas. Working with Kelly make it possible (and fun–it’s great to work with a friend!).

I’ve got quite a few of the kids that sat for my camera to share, so, in no particular order, here’s Round 1:

I spent the last few days at another local Bozeman preschool, so more adorable little 2 to 5 year old faces will be showing up here soon!

Fall is one of the busiest times for photographers and 2010 has been no exception! Between families eager to get images for holiday cards and preschools eager for school photos, I have been very (happily!) busy. I’ve got another set of preschool images to share over the next few days. And I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I really love working with the preschool set . . . little personalities are budding and it’s so fun to have one child step in front of the camera eager to show off their best smile and then the next shyly sit down, just waiting for me to draw out that genuine expression. Some just start talking about anything and everything (which makes me a lot more cautious about what I say to my own 3-year-old!), some succinctly and politely answer my questions, and others stay quiet with just little nods of their head. I just never know what I’m going to get, but I know it’s going to be fun. . . and that’s the best part!

I photographed the kids at a local Bozeman preschool a few weeks ago and have too many great images to share for just one post, so I’m kicking off another “Preschool Week” here on the blog. I think the 3-5 year old set is one of my favorite ages to photograph, especially when you get them one-on-one. They are so fun to interact with and they laugh at my corny jokes. . . big bonus points in my book!

Prepare yourself, though, you might go into adorableness overload by the end of the week!

I love autumn! The air starts to have that little chill and the leaves turn brilliant shades of red and yellow. . . and school is back in session! It’s not my own kids that I’m happy to be seeing at school (with a toddler and young preschooler in my house I have a few years to wait for that!), it’s seeing the adorable, smiling faces of dozens of other kids that I love. Like these primary school-aged kids that go to a very small, local school.

Now, aren’t they a great reason to love fall?

The children of Bozeman will soon be released from their desks to spend their days outside, but before they completely escape for the summer, they had to pose for a round of photos. A few weeks ago, I had a fun afternoon at a very unique, very small local school. It’s a 2-room schoolhouse with about a dozen students ranging from K – 5th grade.

I was met with adorable, handsome, and agreeable smiling faces!

Well, except for one. . .

He was really wishing school was already out!

I had a great time doing photos at another local preschool last week. Preschoolers might just be my favorite age group–but only if I can get them one-on-one. Luckily, that’s just what I did! Here’s a small sampling of these adorable little tykes. The sweet grins, precocious smiles, and serious three/four/five-year old stares. . . I think you’ll see why they’re in the running for being my favorites!

An entire school full of cuteness is just too much to handle all at once, so I’ll be parceling it out little-by-little all week. Check back for more tomorrow!

I had the privilege of taking photos at my son’s preschool a few weeks ago and I’ve never seen a cuter bunch of 3 to 5 year olds! I’d love to show you all 150+ photos I took, but with great difficulty I pared it down to a more manageable set of my favorites.

“A” may be for “apple” but in this classroom I think “absolutely adorable” is more appropriate!
