A Merry & Festive Season {Colorado Family Photographer}

I adore this fabulously stylish family! Mom has a great eye and nailed the outfits and accessories to get the perfect festive vibe for the holiday season. And we lucked out with a light dusting of snow and a perfect golden Colorado afternoon. Temps were just chilly enough to encourage family snuggling but not turn us all into popsicles!

Magic Hour {Colorado Family Photographer}

The magic hour… also referred to as the “golden hour,” is one of my favorite times to photograph a family. While “golden” is an appropriate name for this time of day, I think “magic” fits even better. The beautiful glow of the landscape creates a truly magical scene for a family portrait session.

2016 Holiday Card Designs

I’ve got some amazing new holiday card design offerings for 2016! Keep in mind that they are all completely customizable. . . want “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays”? No problem! Want a dark green background instead of gray? No problem! All cards are flat, 5×7, press-printed cards on high quality paper, and they include envelopes!

Holiday cards are targeted for fall mini-sessions BUT I’m happy to design cards for you from a session earlier this year, just send me a note and we’ll get started. I also have a few mini-session spots available in Colorado during November – get in touch ASAP to grab one!

I’m starting to feel settled in Colorado after our family move from California this past summer and am so excited that it’s officially fall — which means beautiful light, delicious pumpkin-flavored treats and family portrait season!

At Home with the Fun Five {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

I love meeting a family at their home for a photo session. Everyone is relaxed and personalities shine through when surrounded by the comforts of home.

I also love that we can incorporate things beloved by the family, and that we can go inside or out. . .

. . . and change outfits a few times. And maybe, play peek-a-boo with your big sisters

As this awesome family can attest, an in-home session is a lovely choice!

Welcome Back! {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

If you saw my last post, you know I have hockey on the mind, which has been a theme in front of my camera lately. Just like the family in the previous post, this beautiful family also has a retired NHL player among its ranks! They spent considerable time in Los Angeles when Dad played for the L.A. Kings and now they’re back to stay. What better way to settle back in than to put our famous Los Angeles beaches to work in the backdrop of updated family pictures!

I have to take a second and give HUGE props to these awesome kids. . . to get the lovely morning light ideal for pictures, we met at the beach just as the sun was starting to come over the horizon. These kids were nice, polite, funny and really enjoyed each other’s company — a beautiful thing in and of itself, but before 7:00 a.m., well, I was very impressed!

Not only were the human kiddos happy, the furry one was, too!

Before their session ended, we had a chance to incorporate Mom’s idea of the kids wearing Dad’s old hockey jerseys. I love adding that personal touch to a session

Hat Trick {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

I adore this family! This is the third time I’ve photographed them and it really was a charm! Mom always comes up with a fun theme or the perfect colors for their holiday cards… the pops of red this year are just perfect with the greens and blues of the ocean in the background. The gorgeous kiddos make my job easy!

I especially love how they always find a way to incorporate their passion for hockey (Dad, after all, is a former NHL player who spent several years playing for the L.A. Kings). The Kings surfboard was the perfect addition to a beachy holiday card from an awesome hockey family
