10 on 10: Cabrillo Marine Aquarium {Los Angeles Photographer}

I shared an image from our trip to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium for my “Fine Art Friday” a couple of weeks ago, but I thought I’d share a few more for this “10 on 10.”  My brother was in town for a visit and my boys and I had to show him a good time — so we went exploring and ended up at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro, CA.  It was a great little find with quite a nice display of animals and ocean life.  Perfectly sized to keep the attention of my 3- and 5-year-old, and me too, for that matter!

The touch tank was super fun, even if my 3-year-old was a little intimidated to actually put his hands in the water!

One of the coolest features was the aquarium you could walk right into the middle of!

Once we had our fill of sea creatures, we walked across the parking lot to Cabrillo Beach to play on the sand.

We also watched the action in Long Beach Harbor, as the large container ships made their way to Ports o’ Call and some sort of filming was going on from those 2 helicopters.

I couldn’t help but soak up the beauty of the bright blue sky with the half moon showing its face during the day.  It was a fun trip and I’d definitely recommend the stop!

Now, head on over to Beth Philcrantz, New Hampshire Family Photographer to see her 10 on 10!

The Sillies {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

When you look at this beautiful high schooler. . .

And her handsome little brother. . .

And you see just how special the bond is between them. . .

You might wonder why I called this post, “The Sillies.”  Well, the sweetness you saw above is not an act, it’s just one little part of this family.  You see, when little brother is 6-years-old, you can’t help but have some sillies around. . .

And being a teenager doesn’t mean you’re above being silly yourself, either!

As I think you can tell, I had a fantastic time with this pair, sweetness and silliness all the way around!

You captured them perfectly Amy! I love these photographs. Thank you from the Mom of the Silly pair

My Brother {Los Angeles Head Shots}

Meet my big brother, Doug.  He’s an airline pilot, awesome Uncle, and he’s just added aspiring actor to his resume.  He lives in Cincinnati with his lovely wife but came out for a quick visit to L.A. last week to visit his nephews.  While he was here, we did some head shots to add to his portfolio.

I call this one his “Assistant D.A.” shot.  I think he looks perfect for a role on Law & Order!

He showed his softer side, too.

And something a little more casual to finish out the bunch:

My boys are especially fond of their Uncle Doug and hopefully we’ll see him on the big (or small) screen soon!

Fine Art Friday: Under the Sea {Los Angeles Photographer}

It’s the last Friday of the month, which means that yet another month has raced by!  Are we really half way through 2012 already?!

This month, I bring you a fascinating under water animal, the sea anemone.  I didn’t even have to get wet, either!  This lovely creature was at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro, California.  Now that school is out for the summer, I’ve been exploring some of the numerous SoCal attractions with my boys.   This one was a hit, with them and me, so if you’re ever in the area it’s definitely worth a stop.

Under the water a bright pink and orange anenome reaches out beautifully with long graceful arms at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.

Now, head over to see what Beth Philcrantz, New Hampshire Photographer has in store for today!

Let’s go fly a kite! {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

Take two sweet sisters. . .

Add a pair of butterfly kites. . .

And their beautiful mama. . .

And you get one amazing photo session in Southern California!

These girls were just about as sweet as could be, and adorable to boot!  My son just lost his first baby tooth so I have a special place in my heart right now for the crooked smile of big sister.  And how can you not just die over little sister’s curls?!

I had such a wonderful morning with these ladies and I can’t wait for her to get some of these pictures up on her wall!
