The Sacrament of Baptism {Los Angeles Event Photographer}

Last weekend, I was honored to capture the baptism of two very special young children.  Their families are very dear friends, so it was special for them to share the day together.

You could feel that they were surrounded with joy, love, happiness and holiness as the priest poured water over each special child.

Congratulations on the official welcome to your community of faith!  It was an honor to be witness to God’s love on this special day!

10 on 10: Abalone Cove {Los Angeles Photographer}

I shared some of Palos Verdes for my April “10 on 10,” but thought it was worth another visit!  We ventured back onto “The Peninsula” on a weekend, which meant that Daddy got to come along, too.  We packed a picnic and headed straight for Abalone Cove Shoreline Park.  We found some nice short trails that lead from the cliff tops (where the parking lot is) to the rocky beach.

Abalone Cove is known for its tide pools, but we didn’t time our visit very well.  High tide was coming within an hour of our arrival.  So we didn’t get to search for little ocean critters, but we still had fun exploring the narrow rocky beach.

I ventured around the south cliff of the cove and found several daring fishermen risking rogue high tide waves for the perfect catch.

And while we didn’t have tide pools teeming with sea creatures to explore, we were still treated with some wildlife sightings.  Including birds circling overhead. . .

. . . and this guy, trying hard to hide in the crevice of the rock.  He was about as big as the palm of my hand.

After exploring the low side of Abalone Park, we headed back up a trail to the south cliff, aptly named Inspiration Point, and caught a glimpse of Sacred Cove.

From our high viewpoint we also caught a glimpse of a playful little guy down below.  I was mostly happy that I had opted to bring my wide angle lens in lieu of my zoom on our trip that day (which enabled me to get most of the images above), but I was definitely missing it with this guy!   Still, it was a fun treat to cap off a fun trip.  Abalone Cove is definitely on our “Favorite Things In SoCal” List!

10 on 10 is a blog hop project with a talented group of photographers.  Be sure to head over to North Canton lifestyle photographer, Louder Than Words Photography by Heidi Roberts to continue the loop!

Sugar & Spice {Los Angeles Child Photographer}

Do you remember the Mother’s Day Giveaway from a few weeks ago?  Well, this lovely lady and her mama were the lucky winners!

Los Angeles girl gives a sweet expression to a photographer.

It couldn’t have come at a better time, because Quinn celebrated her 2nd birthday just days after our photo session.  I always think birthdays are one of the best times to document your growing child.  As I know all too well with my own little ones, a lot can change in a year!

A toddler girl in a purple dress poses for a portrait in El Segundo.

As is true with most 2-year-olds, we got a little bit of everything from dear Quinn during her mini-session — beauty, happiness, inquisitiveness, smiles, and uh-ohs.  This is one of my favorites:

Precocious Los Angeles toddler gets her picture taken.

And a split second later, after she realized that she wasn’t really caught with her hand in the cookie jar, I got the sweetest little grin.

I love all of Quinn’s little expressions. . . and I know I’m not the only one.  Her beautiful mama, of course, can’t get enough!  I have to give a special thanks to Elizabeth at LooKs, etc Salon in El Segundo,  who styled mama and daughter’s hair before our session.  They both looked gorgeous!

Beautiful mom gets a kiss from her 2-year-old daughter.

Kisses to you both, deserving winners!
