School Memory Boxes {Bozeman School Photographer}

School is coming to an end for the year and I have a great new product for you to hold and preserve all those fantastic memories!

The School Memory Box uses one of your child’s school portraits to create a customized, personalized memory box large enough to keep those precious projects, notes, and drawings. It’s 10″ x 10″ and approximately 3″ deep.  The back of the box has your choice of your child’s class picture or another individual picture.   You can also choose the color of the box!

Rainy Day {Bozeman Family Photographer}

After some gorgeous weather last week, I started biting my nails as the weekend approached and the forecast showed rain.  I’d had this session on the books for a few weeks and it was time sensitive.  Half of the participants were only going to be in Bozeman for 3 days!  With gray skies and drizzly rain on Saturday morning, I held my breath, said a little prayer, and headed over to Lindley Park.

And the precipitation stopped just long enough for us to get in some photos!

Two sisters pose with their children for a portrait in Bozeman, MT.

The two youngest kids were in Bozeman to visit their aunt (their mom’s sister) and cousin.  And grandma wanted some pictures of all of her grandbabies together.  I can’t blame her–they are all so adorable (and handsome)!

A trio of cousins, each pose for individual Bozeman pictures.

And even though mother nature tried to put a dent in our plans, she was unsuccessful.

A baby smiles as his mother holds him.

In fact, I should probably thank her, because those rainy, gray skies sure made for some beautiful, bright greens and colors in the photos.  You just don’t get color like that on a sunny day, so thank you.

And thank you, also, to this awesome family for braving the chilly raindrops with grace, style, and good humor.  It was a pleasure to meet you all!

Friday Favorites {Bozeman Photographer}

I think I missed a favorites list last week, but I won’t let you down this week!

1. Kid rain coats. I don’t really love the rain (and I’m keeping my fingers crossed it stays away for the two sessions I have scheduled this weekend!) but one thing that makes it a little more tolerable for me is that my 4-year-old gets to wear his raincoat. There’s just something adorable about seeing him splashing around outside in his favorite shade of blue! You can find it at REI and the bonus is that they’re having their annual sale right now!

2. Dr. Seuss. We love books in our house and his are among our favorite. We re-discovered a classic this afternoon–Ten Apples Up On Top! My now-4-year-old loved this book when he was 2 and today, my now-2-year-old pulled it off his shelf. We read it 3 times before his nap and twice before bed tonight. It’s a good thing I like it!

3. Eric Hutchinson. My husband found this CD for me a while ago and even though I didn’t immediately recognize his name, I did know a few of his songs when I popped it in the CD player. He has a very upbeat, fun, Jason Mraz-type sound. The disc has been in constant rotation in the car this week and the kids and I have been happily bopping along as we drive through town. If you’re looking for something new, check this out!

I’ll wrap it up here, but if you could kindly send some prayers for the rain to stay away from Bozeman this weekend I would really appreciate it!

Sweet Dreams {Bozeman Newborn Baby Photographer}

I’m back with a few more images of the sweetest little boy that I met last week.  I shared one sneak peek a few days ago and am now ready for more!

A Bozeman newborn baby sleeps peacefully

This little guy was one of the sweetest, most mellow little babies I’ve ever worked with.  He was snoozing happily in mom’s arms when I arrived and didn’t make a peep when we stripped off his diaper and laid him on the blankets.

A baby sleeps sweetly with his legs crossed.

So precious, so sweet.  And those yummy, squishy lips. . . just too much!

He did eventually wake up to show off his bright eyes!

Then we headed outside to get a few pictures with the Bridger Mountains as a backdrop.  The family will be moving to New York soon and wanted to preserve a bit of Montana so their little guy will always have a piece of where he was born to remember.

At the risk of going overboard with images, I’ll wrap it up with a Dad & Son and a Mom & Son shot.  I love these. . . Dad’s strong arms supporting his boy.

And Mom entirely smitten with the boy who is looking up at her in complete adoration!

I’m so happy for this new family!

2! {Bozeman Child Photographer}

My youngest son turned 2 this past weekend, which meant it was time for his annual “official photo shoot”!  I had hoped to do it  over the weekend, but the 60 mph winds trumped me.  Thankfully, Monday night was calm and nice so we headed out to the trail.

And he was a champ!  It’s always tricky with a 2-year-old in front of the camera, and when your mom is a photographer (with a camera constantly in your face), it’s even trickier!  Thankfully, he did great!  (So did my husband, who served as baby wrangler. . . I couldn’t have done it without him!)

We threw rocks in the creek, found sticks and bugs and walked along the trail.  He had so much fun and I did too!

He managed to show off a little bit of all the parts of his personality. . . sweet, happy, silly, shy.  And I captured it all!

I love this boy!  Happy 2-years-old, my son!
