Preschool Fun {Bozeman Preschool Photographer}

I’m finally catching my breath after an amazingly busy November and one thing I’ve been eager to check off of my “to do” list is posting some of the images from a Preschool I photographed early in November.  The school had over 80 kids (more than double the other schools I’ve photographed!), so I teamed up with my good friend Kelly Kuntz.  I wanted to be sure this school got the same high quality and exceptional service that I’m known for, with print orders delivered before Christmas.  Working with Kelly make it possible (and fun–it’s great to work with a friend!).

I’ve got quite a few of the kids that sat for my camera to share, so, in no particular order, here’s Round 1:

These cute kiddos, with excited and happy grins, seem like a fitting way to countdown the week before Christmas!  More to come tomorrow. . .

Scott + Cindy @ The Emerson, Bozeman, Montana {Bozeman Wedding Photographer}

I had the pleasure of being the second shooter at a Thanksgiving-weekend wedding with my friend Rab Cummings.  I had a great time working with my friend and this amazing couple.  Get ready for the long version of the story of their day (viewed through my lens–Rab will have some of his amazing shots up on his blog soon)!

I have to start out with a little bit of love (in both color and black and white). . .

Then go back to the start, the preparations and getting ready!

And then came the wedding day “first look” and some formal portraits . . .

The wedding was in the evening, so after taking advantage of afternoon light for outdoor photos, the bride and groom had some time to go home and relax before getting ready a second time for the actual ceremony.

Post-ceremony congratulations from friends, a few more formal portraits, and then the party and feast began!

In lieu of a wedding cake, the guests enjoyed creme brulee prepared by the groom, accented with delicate white chocolate leaves.

Congratulations Cindy and Scott!  May your beautiful day be a reflection of your love and life for years to come!

Montana Parent Cover {Bozeman Child Photographer}

I had the honor of photographing the cover story for the December issue of Montana Parent magazine!

When I first moved to Bozeman in 2008 with a young son I was thrilled to find this amazing publication at so many spots around town.  Being new to the area, I had no idea how great Bozeman, MT is for raising kids.  The first issue I read immediately plugged me into all the events, activities, and places to go in the Gallatin Valley.  I could hardly believe that all the goodness inside was available for free!  Since then, I’ve added another kiddo to my family and the magazine just keeps getting better and better.  You can get one (almost literally) all over town, and in addition to some fine photography;-)you’ll find some great articles that make life easier, more festive, and more fun if you have kids in your house!  I’m honored to be a part of such a great thing!

Great work Amy!

We have another winner! {Bozeman Family Photographer}

In addition to giving one of my 2010 clients a 16×20 canvas, I also gave a free session & 16×20 canvas from that session to one lucky voter.  Random.org helped me figure out the winner, who happens to be lucky commenter #278!

(*Note at the time official voting ended there were 311 comments on the voting post, a few comments were left after that time which now appear on that post)

And just who is #278?  It’s Rachel!  She doesn’t live in Bozeman, but will be here this summer to visit the handsome nephews that she voted for.  She’s looking forward to a fun session with these boys and their cousins!  I have to admit that I’m excited for it, too!

Thanks again to all my clients that participated and the fans who voted!

We have a winner! {Bozeman Family Photographer}

After 300+ votes, we have a very happy new mom who will be hanging a 16×20 canvas of this image in her home in a few weeks:

A mother kisses her newborn baby

Thanks to all of my clients and voters for participating!  I love all the images and it certainly was a tough choice for voters.  Even though the non-winning images won’t be turned into a 16×20 canvas, I can’t bear the thought of these images not being on display so I’m going to send a 5×7 of each one to the lovely family pictured!

Also, all who did vote, check your in-box (and possibly your spam folder) for an e-mail from me.  Randomnumber.org helped me select a winner of a free session and 16×20 canvas for 2011.  Once I’ve verified that the winner can redeem it, I’ll announce the lucky person so you can all offer congrats!

Thanks again for a fun and exciting contest!
