Birds and Cookies {Bozeman Child Photographer}

I have such talented and crafty friends!  Heidi just launched a shop on etsy selling the most adorable girls dresses, skirts, hair bows, and picture frames.  I was so excited to head to the park with some adorable little models last week to photograph her Birds and Cookies collection in action.

And I literally mean “in action.”  These are some fast little girls!

I was able to slow them down slightly by distracting them with flowers.  And they were delighted when I told them they could take the flowers home with them!

I guess it’s a good thing they were fast because we had a lot of dresses for them to model.  Heidi just got some new fabrics, so she’ll have even more up in her store soon.

With each new one that came out, I thought, “oh, this is my favorite!”  I kept declaring the same thing over and over!

In addition to the dresses (which can also double as shirts), she has some skirts that are perfect for twirling!

If there is a little girl in your life, you have to check out Birds and Cookies!

Butte Style {Bozeman Portrait Photographer}

After having a chance to do some documentary style portraits and some urban “landscapes” during my recent photography workshop in Butte, Montana, I had the chance to work in my comfort zone doing simple, sweet, and fun portraits.  My subjects were a trio of hip, young adults who just happened to be walking down the street and willingly gave myself and a fellow photographer their time.  That’s just how the Butte residents are. . . open, friendly, and eager for an ear to listen.

Playful couple kisses

Like I previously mentioned, the people of Butte are so full of life and character.  And they are so willing to share that with strangers.  Strangers with cameras.  How fortunate for us!

A portrait of Uptown Butte {Bozeman Photographer}

One of my favorite parts of my weekend in Butte with Montana Photography Workshops was the chance to walk the streets of Uptown Butte, camera hanging from my neck like a tourist.  Rather than photographing people, I was out to get a portrait of the city.  You can just feel the history and culture and character in every square inch and I reveled in soaking it all up.  Enjoy the short tour!

Butte Tough {Bozeman Portrait Photographer}

I spent the past weekend in Butte, MT with Doug Loneman and Thomas Lee of Montana Photography Workshops.  It was an intensive weekend dedicated to portrait and documentary photography set in a town teeming with character and inspiration.  Our first opportunity to pull out our cameras was at the Pink Glove boxing studio. . .
