2012 Holiday Card Offerings

I am so excited to share the beautiful holiday card designs I’m offering for 2012!  There’s something for everyone. . . traditional, modern, fun, funky, beautiful, and whimsical.  Anyone who books a holiday mini-session with me (details available here!) will get a complimentary set of 25 of these, customized with your own beautiful images.  I’m also offering them to clients from this past year, so if you’d like to order, please let me know!

Most of the cards are 5″ x 7″ flat (think postcard style), full color cards, printed on a high quality press paper.  A few of the designs are die-cut (with ornamental shapes or rounded corners) and a few of the designs are 5″ x 5″ square.  All can be customized with a different color, greeting, names, etc.

[...] can see the holiday card templates for this year here!  So go check ‘em out then get in touch to book your session for Nov 3rd or 11th!  [...]

Fine Art Friday {Los Angeles Photographer}

The end of the month nears, which means another installment for Fine Art Friday!  This beautiful bloom caught my eye in a neighbors yard earlier this month.  I love the lines, texture, shapes, and contrast of the red and green. . .  a little taste of Christmas in Autumn!

A red hibiscus pops against a white fence.

For more inspiring art, be sure to check out Durham, NC Fine Art Photographer, Leigh Ann Hines, then follow the links for a circle of images sure to brighten your Friday!

[...] Be sure to go see the rest of our Fine Art group. You can start with Amy in Los Angeles, CA Photographer, Amy Shertzer [...]

Beach Babies {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

Lots of families love to do photo sessions on the beach.  When you live within 2 miles of the coastline, I can’t say I blame them.  For this family, however, I can’t think of a more appropriate place for their pictures. . . both mom and dad are surfers.  They met while surfing, just a little ways down the beach from where we did their session.  Pretty perfect, I say!

Mom suggested bringing down a few arm chairs and I loved the idea!  So that’s how we started. . .

Then we moved down to the water (what’s a beach without water!). . .

We even had a little time to play on the sand. . .

And then we wrapped things up right where we started, but with just a little more flair!  Aren’t these just fab?!

We proved this morning that you don’t need a surf board to have fun at the beach!

10 on 10: Olvera Street {Los Angeles Photographer}

The 10th completely caught me by surprise this month!  Luckily I’ve had these images from a recent trip to Olvera Street, just waiting to be blogged!   Olvera Street is in the heart of downtown Los Angeles and one of the oldest streets in the city.  A visit there is like stepping back into early L.A. history or perhaps even a city in Mexico!  The street is closed to traffic and lined with street vendors, restaurants, beautiful foliage and delicious smells!

Before school went back, my good friend and I took a midday trip with our kids to explore this historic part of Los Angeles.  The kids loved searching for treasures at all the stands!

While the adults just soaked in all the culture and color!

The kids made a wish in a fountain. . .

And we checked out some food options.

We settled for a sit down lunch, which had to include a margarita!

I love playing “tourist” in our city, and a trip to Olvera Street was a great way to spend an afternoon!

Now, go take a peek at  Milwaukee Wisconsin Photographer Melissa Schuett’s site for another take on “10 on 10″!

[...] Keep going through our circle of 10 on 10… check out our friend Amy Shertzer all the way out in Los Angeles, CA! [...]
