Sisterly Love {Los Angeles Family Photographer}

This is the session that almost didn’t happen! Several months ago, the mom of these sweet girls scheduled this session for the end of June, which was right after I was returning from a family trip back east. The problem arose when I returned from my trip as scheduled, but my camera didn’t. It’s a long, sordid story that boils down to my bag of equipment staying on a connecting airplane in Atlanta when I did not. The good news is that, according to the airline, they think they found my bag and it is on its way back to me as I type. It’s been quite the 2 weeks without “my baby,” but thankfully a bright spot in that 2 weeks was having these two sweet “babies” in front of a lens (that was so graciously loaned to me by a friend!).

Super sweet sisters on their own, and even better together!

The love was also spread to “girl’s best friend”. . .

I think you can see why they were a “bright spot” for me!

Seeing Double {L.A. Beach Family Photographs}

I had an absolutely delightful time on the beach last week with a couple of adorable little girls. Twin sisters, two years old, who most definitely gave me a good workout!

They also gave some other folks a great workout. . . Grandma and Grandpa!

This session was special for several reasons. . . Mom surprised Grandma with the photo session as a Mother’s Day gift earlier in May. The grandparents were going to be visiting later in the month and it was a gift that Grandma truly would cherish. Watching the magic between grandchildren and their grandparents is so fun. So, twins, with their grandparents, and a surprise gift session. . . you can see why it was so special!

Even though it was a Mother’s Day gift, Grandpa got a little bit of sweetness, too!

And then they were off! The girls were having such a great time, the only way they agreed to leave was with the promise of a return as soon as they went home to get bathing suits!

I had an amazing session with an amazing family last week, and while I will share a lot more in a few days, I can’t resist a tiny little peek right now of these sweet sisters. We had lots of fun and lots of big smiles and laughs, but I’m really drawn to this image with the sweet and loving bond between them so evident. It really makes me wish I had an image like this of me and my sister when we were girls!

As I’ve been posting all these mini-session images over the last few weeks, I’m just reminded of how much I love my job! Every time I look at a picture, I just can’t stop smiling!

And with this family, I can just hear the laughter and joy that filled my ears for our quick session!

One of my favorite parts of this job is watching kids grow. I photographed these two adorable girls last year and it’s clear to see how much they’re grown and changed! One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is just how much they adore each other. Two of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met, these sisters share a special bond and I love capturing that!

Thanks for sharing your sweetness and smiles with me again this year, girls! I’m already looking forward to seeing you again next fall!

Sweet Sisters {Bozeman Child Photographer}

I first met these two sweet girls about a year and a half ago and I was so excited when their mom contacted me about scheduling a photo shoot before my family relocates to Los Angeles later this summer. They are the sweetest and most adorable girls and they just happen to be the same ages as my own two kids. The major difference is that my kids are boys. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thrilled to have 2 handsome boys, but there is a tiny part of me that pines for a girl, with sweet smiles and adorable dresses. Thankfully I can get my fix in front of the camera!

The girls had some time in front of the camera together and then they each had a turn by themselves. I’m on a roll of starting with the youngest, so here she is, Miss Cutie Pie 2-year-old!

And her lovely big sister. . .

One last picture in their beautiful backyard garden. Thank you starting my week off right, girls!

I kicked off 2011 with a fun (and frigid!) session on new year’s day. We had two awesome families. . .

. . . with a very awesome connection–twin sisters!

Although the sun was shining, the temperatures in Bozeman on January 1st were in the single digits. So we did lots of snuggling and hugging. . .

And the big kids braved the cold for a few minutes without their coats, even giving me some beautiful smiles!

We’re going to wait for a warmer spring day to get the little guys out there without coats, but they were all troopers and we managed a fun extended family photo before jumping back in the car to thaw out our fingers and toes!

I’m thinking that last one would make a fun canvas, don’t you?

I was on quite a roll with my little adoring fans at Saturday’s mini-sessions. Big hugs came earlier in the day and then when this family arrived, sweet little 3-year-old presented me with a picture she had drawn just for me earlier that afternoon. It now sits proudly on my desk! She was a star during the session and loved giving me a healthy dose of (sweet) sass posing for this image:

And then the laughs came when she had a chance to get the entire family in on the fun. . .

The key to little sister’s big smiles did not lie with any of my silly antics and tricks, it was dear Mama who was finally able to unlock them!

So, in our short session we had some adorable sass, some big smiles, and we still had time for a little bit of love. . .

I’ll wrap up this sneak peek now, with just a little more love, this time with the entire family in on the act!

After kicking off the mini-sessions photographing a trio of beautiful girls, I stayed right on that track with some more beautiful sisters!

These two cuties were such sweethearts!

Little sister was wide-eyed and happy, always watching what her happy, adventurous, and spunky older sister was exploring.

And it wasn’t hard to see where they got pleasant and joyful demeanor. . . this whole beautiful family was just a joy to spend time with!

Ladies First {Bozeman Child Photographer}

A few days ago, I introduced you to a wonderful extended family headed by a very handsome (and very young-looking!) couple. You can see where their 7 grandchildren get their looks! As promised, you now get a close-up of those adorable kiddos. I decided to start with the ladies, so tonight I bring you 3 lovely cousins, starting with the 2 siblings!

Miss 6-year-old had some awesome new cowgirl boots and a new set of permanent front teeth to show off. And between her giggles and stories, I did manage to catch her in a quick, quiet moment.

Then she was all smiles again!

4-year-old little sister was a little more shy, but equally adorable.

And this soon-to-be-11 young woman was full of poise, politeness, and beauty. . . a perfect role model for her younger cousins!

She’s just learning to play guitar and her dad pulled it out so we could get some photos of her with it. I love it when clients bring along a meaningful prop. . . something that gives a little glimpse into their personality. I think this one would make a great cover photo for her debut album!
