I put my personal picture-a-day project on hold for 2012 because I felt like I needed a bit of a break. But now, instead of committing to just one project (the picture-a-day), I’ve got 3 on my plate! I’ve been sharing my “52 in 2012″ images for the last few weeks, and I posted my first “10 on 10” and now, my third (and final!) personal project this year, “Fine Art Friday.”

Fine Art Friday is a monthly project, posted on the fourth Friday of every month. It’s a chance to post something a little out of the norm, something not necessarily for a client, and something that speaks to me. The best part of this project is that I’m not doing it alone! Some amazing fellow photographers have gathered together for this effort, so after you view my image for the month, you’ll see a link to another fantastic image. That page will link to yet another image, and so forth, until you follow the circle back to here. And I would be completely remiss if not to give thanks to Nichole Van for inspiring this entire effort.

My first “Fine Art Friday” image for 2012 was taken at The Getty Center last week. After strolling the magnificent architecture and grounds, I was drawn to the Impressionists gallery. They have always been my favorite types of paintings and I could have stared for hours at the masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Turner, Manet, Degas, and more. I guess you could say that they inspired this image, taken in the gardens. I love the painterly feel to the lines in the background, with just a few pops of color and sharpness.

Be sure to check out Camas Wa Photographer Rachel Noah of Verve Life Portraits next! And happy Friday. . . may you find some beautiful inspiration this weekend!
